Amy Stephens, born 1981 in London. Lives and works in London. Studied MA Fine Art at Chelsea College of Art & Design and BA Fine Art at the University of Reading.

Solo exhibitions include: Amy Stephens, The Process Room, Irish Museum of Modern Art, Dublin, Ireland, 2011; The Rise of the Wapiti, Other Gallery, Banff Centre, Alberta, Canada, 2010. Selected group exhibitions include: Line, Poppy Sebire, London, 2011; No Soul For Sale - A Festival of Independents, Tate Modern, London, 2010; Meet Pamela, John Jones Project Space, London, 2009; 195 Miles, Project Space Leeds in collaboration with the Whitechapel Gallery, London, 2008. Stephens has been shortlisted for the Converse / Dazed Emerging Artists Award 2011 and has work in several public and private collections, including the Zabludowicz Collection.

Stephens’s interest lies in the appropriation of nature, using drawing and architectural influences within her work to transform spaces into an exploration of line, plane and volume.
